ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು 17.03.2025: ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಗೌರವಾನ್ವಿತ ರಾಜ್ಯಪಾಲರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಥಾವರ್ ಚಂದ್ ಗೆಹ್ಲೋಟ್ ಅವರು ರಾಜಭವನದ ಗಾಜಿನಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಚತುರ್ಥ ಚರಣ್ ಕಬ್ಸ್, ಹೀರಕ್ ಪಂಖ್ ಬುಲ್ ಬುಲ್ಸ್ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರ ಸ್ಕೌಟ್ಸ್, ಗೈಡ್ಸ್, ರೋವರ್ಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ರೇಂಜರ್ಸ್ ಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಪತ್ರ ಪ್ರದಾನ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
"1907 ರಲ್ಲಿ 20 ಮಕ್ಕಳೊಂದಿಗೆ 'ಬ್ರೌನ್ ಸೀ' ದ್ವೀಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಲಾರ್ಡ್ ಬಾಡೆನ್ ಪೊವೆಲ್ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದ ಸ್ಕೌಟ್ಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಗೈಡ್ಸ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಇಂದು ವಿಶ್ವದ 216ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಅತಿದೊಡ್ಡ ಅಂತರರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸ್ವಯಂಪ್ರೇರಿತ, ರಾಜಕೀಯೇತರ, ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಸ್ಕೌಟ್ಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಗೈಡ್ಸ್ ತನ್ನ ಉದ್ದೇಶದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಯುವಕರಲ್ಲಿ ದೈಹಿಕ, ಮಾನಸಿಕ, ಬೌದ್ಧಿಕ, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಆರ್ಥಿಕ, ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ, ಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಕೌಶಲ್ಯ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಲು ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯುತ ನಾಗರಿಕರಾಗಿ, ಅವರು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹಿತಾಸಕ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಹಿತಾಸಕ್ತಿಯ ಸೇವೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ನೀಡಬಹುದಾಗಿದೆ" ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
" ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳೆದ 100 ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 7 ಲಕ್ಷ 50 ಸಾವಿರಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕರನ್ನು ಸೃಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಸಾಧನೆಗಳ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಸ್ಕೌಟಿಂಗ್ ಮತ್ತು ಗೈಡಿಂಗ್ ಮೂಲಕ ನಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇರೂರಿರುವ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ತತ್ವಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಹತ್ವ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಪ್ರದಾನ ಸಮಾರಂಭವು ತಮ್ಮ ಕೆಲಸದ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಾಜಕ್ಕೆ ಕೀರ್ತಿ ತಂದ ಸ್ಕೌಟ್ಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಗೈಡ್ಸ್ ಅವರ ಸಮರ್ಪಣೆ, ಕಠಿಣ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮ ಮತ್ತು ಸೇವಾ ಮನೋಭಾವಕ್ಕೆ ಮನ್ನಣೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗಳು ಸ್ಕೌಟ್ಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಗೈಡ್ಸ್ ಸಮುದಾಯ ಸೇವೆ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಯಿಂದ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಗೆ ಸ್ಫೂರ್ತಿ ನೀಡಿವೆ." ಎಂದು ಅವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
"ಈ ವರ್ಷ 987 ಕಬ್ಸ್, 1075 ಬುಲ್‌ಬುಲ್‌ಗಳು, 1935 ಸ್ಕೌಟ್ಸ್, 2099 ಗೈಡ್ಸ್, 293 ರೋವರ್ಸ್ ಮತ್ತು 349 ರೇಂಜರ್‌ಗಳು, ಒಟ್ಟು 6738 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ಹಂತ IV, ಡೈಮಂಡ್ ಫೆದರ್ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಸಂತಸದ ವಿಷಯ. ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿಯೂ ಈ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಧನೆಗಳು ಸ್ಕೌಟ್ಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಗೈಡ್ಸ್ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳ ಅನುಷ್ಠಾನವನ್ನು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸುತ್ತವೆ. ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಪುರಸ್ಕೃತರನ್ನು ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ ಮತ್ತು ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಕೌಟ್ಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಗೈಡ್ಸ್ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಮಾಜ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರದ ಉನ್ನತಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ನೀಡುವುದನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರಿಸುತ್ತೀರಿ ಎಂಬ ನಂಬಿಕೆ" ಎಂದು ಭರವಸೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
"ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ವಿವೇಕಾನಂದರ ವಿಚಾರಗಳು ಅವರ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದಂತೆಯೇ ಇಂದಿಗೂ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತವಾಗಿವೆ. ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ವಿವೇಕಾನಂದರ ಚಿಂತನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಸಮಾಜ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರದ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ನೀಡಬೇಕು. ಇಂದು ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಜಾಗೃತಿಯ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿದ್ದು, ಇದರ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಯುವ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಯ ಮೇಲಿದೆ. ಯುವಕರು ಧರ್ಮ, ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮ, ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಮೈಗೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸುವ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು. ಭಾರತ ದೇಶವು “ವಸುಧೈವ ಕುಟುಂಬಕಂ” ಮತ್ತು “ಸರ್ವೇ ಭವಂತು ಸುಖಿನಃ, ಸರ್ವೇ ಸಂತು ನಿರಾಮಯ” ಎಂಬ ಮನೋಭಾವದಿಂದ ವಿಶ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಏಕತೆಯ ಸಾರ್ವತ್ರಿಕ ಭಾವನೆಯನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸಲು ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ‘ಒಂದು ಭೂಮಿ, ಒಂದು ಕುಟುಂಬ, ಒಂದು ಭವಿಷ್ಯ’ ಎಂಬ ಮಂತ್ರದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮುನ್ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ. ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಬೇಕು" ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
" ನಿಮ್ಮ ಧೈರ್ಯ, ಸಂಕಲ್ಪ ಮತ್ತು ನಿಸ್ವಾರ್ಥ ಸೇವೆ ಶ್ಲಾಘನೀಯ. ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಕೌಟ್ಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಗೈಡ್ಸ್ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುವುದನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಿ ಮತ್ತು ದೇಶದ ಭದ್ರತೆ, ಸಾರ್ವಭೌಮತೆ, ಏಕತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಗ್ರತೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡುವಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ನೀಡಬೇಕು" ಎಂದು ಅವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.

Courage, Determination, and Selfless Service of Scouts and Guides Commendable: Governor
Bengaluru, March 17, 2025: The Honorable Governor of Karnataka, Shri Thaawarchand Gehlot, lauded the unwavering courage, determination, and selfless service demonstrated by the Scouts and Guides during the presentation ceremony of Chathurtha Charan, Heerak Pankh, and Rajyapuraskar certificates. The event recognized the achievements of Cubs, Bulbuls, Scouts, Guides, Rovers, and Rangers.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of U.T. Khader, Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, and P.G.R. Sindhia, Chief Commissioner of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Karnataka State, along with other dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Gehlot praised the Bharat Scouts and Guides for upholding the organization's motto, "Be Prepared and Serve." He commended their significant contributions to society and the nation through active involvement in cleanliness drives, health awareness programs, tree plantations, relief and rehabilitation during natural disasters, and environmental and literacy conservation campaigns.
"In the last 100 years, Karnataka has nurtured more than 7.5 lakh volunteers through the Scouts and Guides movement," the Governor said. "This award ceremony is a tribute to the dedication, hard work, and spirit of service displayed by Scouts and Guides, who have brought pride to the organization and the community through their noble work. These accolades will continue to inspire future generations towards community service and nation-building."
Highlighting the achievements of the year, Governor Gehlot expressed his happiness over the recognition of 6,738 students, including 987 Cubs, 1,075 Bulbuls, 1,935 Scouts, 2,099 Guides, 293 Rovers, and 349 Rangers. He expressed confidence that these awards would further motivate the implementation of Scouts and Guides activities, while congratulating the awardees for their commitment to social upliftment and nation-building.
The Governor also emphasized the enduring relevance of Swami Vivekananda's teachings, calling upon the youth to embrace spirituality, culture, and a spirit of unity. "India is moving forward with the mantra of ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’ and promoting the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah, Sarve Santu Niramaya," he stated.
Governor Gehlot urged the Scouts and Guides to continue serving with even greater energy and responsibility, integrating the values of Scouting and Guiding into their lives to uphold the security, sovereignty, unity, and integrity of the country.
The event was attended by State Commissioner of Scouts Shri M.A. Khalid, Guides Commissioner Smt. Geeta Nataraj, and other distinguished guests.
