In a remarkable achievement, Mohammed Hasnain has won gold in the kata category at the Invitational International Karate Championship held on August 4, 2024, in Shivamogga. The event, organized by A Z Martial Arts Academy India, saw participation from six countries, including India, Nepal, Bhutan, Dubai, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.
Representing the Sudokann Martial Arts Academy, headed by Renshi Zain, Vice-Chairman of the Karnataka State Sports Commission for the Akhila Karnataka Sports Karate Association (AKSKA) and a national judge, Hasnain showcased his exceptional skills. A student of Baldwin Boys' High School, he triumphed in the seven-year kata category and was honoured with a cheque of ₹ 25,000 for his previous achievements and ranking. This accolade adds to his distinction as the youngest record holder in Karnataka and a two-time state champion and South India champion.
Renshi Zain's students excelled in the tournament, winning the team championship with an impressive medal tally: 13 gold, 5 silver, and 7 bronze medals in kata, and 1 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals in kumite categories. The event's success was made possible with the support of AKSKA President Arun Machiah, General Secretary Bhargav Reddy, Dr. Shihan A Z Muheeb, the tournament organizer, and Dr. Hanshi Praveen Ranka, Chairman & Grand Master .
