Christ Academy Institute of Law (CAIL), Bengaluru was pleased to host the final
round of it’s 4 th National Moot Court Competition 2024. This is a prestigious
milestone that brings together some of the brightest legal minds from across the
country.
August 2024. The aim of this event is to provide a platform for law students to hone
their advocacy skills, sharpen their critical thinking acumen beyond enhancing
participants research and writing skills. It also offers the students an opportunity to
interact with renowned judges, seniour advocates, professors and various other
professional experts. Indeed, this is a window to valuable and priceless insights into
the intricacies of the legal profession.
This event turned out to be an intellectually stimulating exercise featuring serious,
rigorous and grounded debates and arguments on the province of Refugee Law. This
event received nearly 50 registrations with 42 teams participating in the process that
has culminated into this grand finale.
The Chief Guest, Hon’ble Mr. Justice E.S. Indresh, Judge, High Court of Karnataka
emphasized the indispensible role of lawyers in a democratic set-up. He encouraged
budding law students to inculcate a value system filled with respect, dialogue and
sensitivity to the cries of the displaced, needy, homeless and marginalised.
He appreciated Christ Academy for providing such a wonderful paltfom which serves as
an incubator where such values are fertilised. On his part, Hon’ble Mr. Justice N.
Kumar, Retired Judge, High Court of Karnataka added that the spirit of compromise
and the willingness to resolve differences through constructive dialogue is part of the
Indian Justice system from time immemorial and should be given importance in the
present era of rising backlog of court cases. Mr. V. Sudhish Pai, Senior Advocate,
High Court of Karnataka concurred and echoed the Chief Guest’s sentiment by
underlining the importance of discipline in the legal profession.
He encouraged the young minds to embrace hard work to succeed both the bar and the bench. He
underscored the greatness of ones love to the country as sacrosanct. They two
acknowledged the contribution being made by the Christ Academy Institute of Law in
nurturing the next generation of legal professionals in a very friendly and conducive
environment for learning.
We congratulate Manipal Law School, MAHE, Bengaluru for emerging as winners of
a rolling trophy with a cash prize tag of Rs 50,000 and Chanakya National Law
University, Patna as Runners-up with a cash prize of Rs 20,000.
Prof. (Dr.) Fr. Davis Panadan P.V., Principal, CAIL presided over the event. Fr.,
Seiby, Fr. Joy, Dr. Sini John, Vice Principal, CAIL, Dr. Irfan Rasool, MCC Convenor
and other MCC faculty members graced the ocassion.
