Governor Emphasizes Universities' Vital Role in Cultivating Life Values and Awareness

 Bangalore (Karnataka Information): Speaking at Garden City University's sixth convocation, Hon'ble Governor of Karnataka, Shri Thaawarchand Gehlot, underscored the pivotal role of universities in shaping well-rounded individuals and fostering societal awareness about life's core values. Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot remarked, "Universities play a crucial role in the holistic development of students, nurturing them into responsible citizens while instilling awareness of life's fundamental values." He highlighted education as a cornerstone for success, applicable across all spheres of life, enhancing skills crucial for achieving excellence in chosen fields of interest.

                                     

Reflecting on India's rich educational heritage, Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot invoked ancient philosophies emphasizing universal well-being and unity, stressing the historical significance of institutions like Nalanda and Taxila. He emphasized the critical role of technical education in advancing human resources and improving quality of life, urging adaptation to rapidly evolving technologies.

Addressing the youth as drivers of progress, Thaawarchand Gehlot invoked Swami Vivekananda's call to action, urging them to contribute towards a self-reliant and developed India. He commended Garden City University's innovative academic programs and its 'Study First, Pay Next' scholarship initiative, benefiting a significant portion of its student body.

Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot also highlighted the pressing global challenge of environmental imbalance, urging collective responsibility towards environmental conservation.

The convocation ceremony was attended by Chancellor Dr. Joseph V, Vice Chancellor Professor G. R. Naik, and other dignitaries.
