Bangalore : The Hon'ble Governor of Karnataka, Shri Thaawarchand Gehlot, extended his heartfelt appreciation to the National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets from Karnataka and Goa for their exceptional achievements in the Inter Directorate Sports Shooting Championship 2024 (IDSSC).
The felicitation ceremony, held with great honor at the prestigious Banquet Hall of the Raj Bhavan, was a momentous occasion to recognize and celebrate the outstanding contributions of these young cadets to the nation and their unwavering commitment to public service.
Governor Gehlot expressed sincere congratulations to the NCC Cadet Shooting Team of Karnataka and Goa NCC Directorate for their participation in the championship and their triumphant victory. He commended the cadets for bringing immense pride to the state of Karnataka through their remarkable performance.
"In the words of the Governor, the National Cadet Corps embodies a noble purpose of fostering character, discipline, an adventurous spirit, and a profound sense of selfless service among the young generation. Being the vanguards of our nation's future, our youth are called upon to embrace a readiness to serve their country dutifully, irrespective of their chosen paths in life."
The Governor highlighted the NCC's continuous evolution and emphasized how its motto of "Unity and Discipline" resonates deeply with the largest disciplined youth organization in the country. Since its inception, the NCC has remained steadfast in its dedication to upholding ideals of security and service.
Recognizing the pivotal role played by the NCC in inspiring young Indians to consider joining the armed forces, Governor Gehlot acknowledged the Corps' exceptional accomplishments in various activities, both at the national and international levels, which have earned it numerous honors and accolades.
During the ceremony, the Hon'ble Governor presented Unit Citations to the two Best Units nominated by the NCC Directorate for their exemplary performance during the previous and current training year.
The event was graced by the presence of other distinguished dignitaries, Minister MC Sudhakar & AIR Commodore SB Arunkumar, VSM, DY.Director General and others were present.
