 Bengaluru, April 30 (Karnataka Information): WHEREAS the Central Government in exercise of the powers conferred by Sub Section (1) and (3) of Section 3 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (37 of 1967) (hereinafter referred to as 'the Act') has declared the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) to be an "Unlawful Association" vide Notification No. S. O. 354 (Ε) dated 29th January, 2024 [published in the Gazette of India Extraordinary Part II, Section -3, Sub-section (ii)].

AND WHEREAS by Gazette Notification No. S.O 722 (E) dated 16th February, 2024 [published in the Gazette of India Extraordinary Part II, Section -3, Sub-section (ii)], in exercise of powers under Sub- Section (1) of Section 5 read with Sub-Sec(1) of Section 4 of the Act, the Central Government has constituted a Tribunal comprising Hon'ble Ms. Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav, Judge of the High Court of Delhi for adjudicating as to whether there is sufficient cause for declaring Student Islamic Movement of India as an "Unlawful Association" as required by Sub Section (1) of Section 4 of the said Act.
NOW THEREFORE, a notice is hereby given under Sub- Section (2) of Section 4 of the Act and you are hereby called upon to Show Cause, as to why your Association, declared as unlawful, be not adjudicated to be so and why and order confirming such declaration be not made under section 4(3) of the Act.

The objections/reply affidavits, if any, may be filed / delivered, at least one week before the next date of hearing before the Tribunal, Jitendara Pratap sing, Registrar, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Tribunal, Room No. 104, First Floor, Block 'A', Delhi High Court, Sher Shah Road, New Delhi-110503. In case objections / reply and the documents are in regional language, true English Translation thereof be also attached. You may appear through a duly authorized person before the Tribunal on 04-05-2024 at 04:30PM in Court No. 16, Delhi High Court, Sher Shah Road, New Delhi-110 503 for further proceedings.
